Maternity Clothing for Exercise, Yoga and Casual Wear
Fit Maternity offers a great selection of quality clothing that you can wear to feel and look fabulous during your yoga practice and when you are dressing casually.  Some of the tops and bathing suits are also postnatal appropriate and they have nursing tops too.  Looking for something a little less expensive, Old Navy has basic yoga pants and t-shirts and tanks in their maternity clothing section that are reasonably priced and with quality significant enough to last through at least one pregnancy.

CHILDBIRTH & PRENATAL EDUCATION COURSES

Yoga Matrika offers yoga-based childbirth preparation workshops, Dynamic Childbirth™, in small groups of less than 5-couples every other month.  Check here for class schedule and information.

Lamaze classes at Magee Womens Hospital: Yoga Matrika gives the highest recommendation to Judy Jones at Magee.  She’s a wonderful teacher!  If you are going to register for a childbirth education class at Magee Hospital, you can’t register for a specific teacher’s class over the internet, but you can if you CALL. Phone: 412-802-8299.

Childbirth Education, Breastfeeding and Baby Wearing Classes at the Midwife Center: This is such an amazing resource for expectant parents in Pittsburgh!  Classes fill up FAST, so please call the Midwife Center (412) 321-6880 to inquire and register as soon as you find out you are pregnant.  This may sound a little severe, but we know that these high quality classes are in high demand!

Independent  Childbirth Education:

Kathy McGrath offers small-group childbirth education classes in 5-class series in Squirrel Hill.  These classes are highly recommended by the midwives at Magee and by participants.  The classes include breastfeeding and postpartum information.  Please call Kathy as she does not have a website: 412-833-8116.

Jan Mallak offers private and group Prepared Childbirth courses.  Call her at   724-327-6063 to inquire.

Deena Blumenfeld offers private and group Lamaze classes.  Deena is intelligent, lovely and happens to be a very talented prenatal yoga instructor. We highly recommend her childbirth education classes especially for expectant moms who have done prenatal yoga during their pregnancy.  She offers these classes and other services through Shining Light Prenatal Education. Julie Zizan and Edie Swihart offer small-group Lamaze classes in the North Hills through  North Hills Childbirth.  These are some very powerful, intelligent and caring women who are experienced childbirth educators.  We highly recommend their classes.
